The Fort Worth City Band is a non-profit community concert band established in 1960 in Fort Worth, Texas. Our band has a twofold purpose: to provide an opportunity for musicians to practice their art in a friendly community group, and to entertain the public in various settings around north Texas.
The band plays indoor or outdoor concerts at different locations around Fort Worth and in the surrounding area including churches, retirement communities, private parties and various public venues.
The band prides itself on the variety of its repertoire, which includes classical transcriptions, show tunes, ragtime, movie music, big band tunes, latin numbers, marches as well as compositions and arrangements by our members. Most of our performances include vocal and instrumental solo or ensemble selections. Each program features at least one march by the great John Philip Sousa.

Band members are musicians who love music and enjoy gathering once a week for rehearsal or sharing their musical enjoyment with the public.
Right now the band has of an average of 40 players, and we are currently recruiting new members, especially saxophones and clarinet players, although all instrumentalists are welcome. Members have various levels of musical accomplishment, and no auditions are required for membership.
Annual membership dues are $24. New members pay a pro-rated amount depending on when they join. Full time students are exempt from paying dues.
The group rehearses on Monday nights from 6:45 to 8:45 at the Riverside Community Center, 3700 East Belknap Street, Fort Worth, TX. At times the band has a concert on Monday nights so please call before coming to your first rehearsal.
